- 국내 건설산업에 투입되는 자재는 대략 GDP의 5.8% 수준으로 경제 전반에 미치는 영향이 크지만, 그동안 충분한 연구가 이뤄지지 않았음.
- 최근 원자재 관련 문제를 겪으면서 건설자재 수요 추정에 관한 연구의 필요성이 커짐.
․지난 2021년 상반기 철근 부족 사태, 당해 연말 중국 요소수 품귀 현상, 2022년 러시아-우크라이나 전쟁으로 인한 시멘트와 레미콘 가격 상승 등 자재와 관련된 문제가 최근 다수 발생함.
․건설 경기 동행지표인 건설투자와 철근 생산량을 비교해보면, 2019~2021년 사이 건설투자와 국내 철근 생산량 추이가 서로 반대인 것을 알 수 있음.
․2021년 철근 부족 사태가 발생한 것은 2020년에 건설투자가 증가했음에도 불구하고 철근 생산량을 줄인 데 따른 결과로 판단됨.
- 본 연구의 목적은 주요 건설자재 산업을 이해하고 실제 건설산업에 투입되는 물량이 얼마인지 분석하는 것임.
․연구의 첫째 목적은 건설 경기를 반영한 주요 건설자재 수요를 살피고 물량 중심으로 수요량을 추정하는 것임.
․둘째는 주요 건설자재의 기본적인 생산과정을 이해하고 원재료 투입구조를 살펴보는 것임.
- 본 연구는 총 5장으로 구성되었으며, 각 장을 요약하면 다음과 같음.
․1장은 서론으로 연구의 배경 및 목적에 대해 밝히고 과거 연구에 대한 고찰과 함께 차별점을 설명하고 전체적인 연구 구성에 대해서 논함.

․4장에서는 주요 건설자재의 원단위 분석을 수행하였음. 원단위 투입구조를 살피고 건설투자액을 구성하는 산업연관표에서 제시하는 공정과 가장 유사한 형태로 건설산업 기성액을 구성하여 투입액을 설정하고 건축착공면적과 함께 분석을 수행함.
․5장에서는 결론 및 시사점을 제시하면서 연구를 마무리함.
